Climate Education For Children Part 2

WV Outpost – In my search for Climate Education For Children Part 2, I found the following sites.

The first site webrangers from the National Parks foundation is fun, even for adults. Your child will find activities such as, Artic artifacts, Dino diets, Explore Tidepools and Investigate Global connections.  One of the activities are Dendrochronology Learning to tell time with trees. Trying to get a six year old to pronounce a word that big was a huge, but cute challenge. She never did pronounce it correct but we  had tons of laughs trying. Webrangers will teach your children Nature, Science, History, National parks, People and Animals. http://www.webrangers.us/index.cfm

The second site is NASA kids club, I love the NASA website. NASA kids club has five learning levels, that include Buzz Lightyear return’s from space, STS-133 Cosmic Corridor, Color NASA  and put it together puzzles. Each game is an educational game that keeps your child interested in learning. The Buzz Lightyear game includes astronauts doing hands on science projects from space.  http://www.nasa.gov/audience/forkids/kidsclub/flash/index.html

The next site is TED.com, Creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson challenges the way we’re educating our children. He champions a radical rethink of our school systems, to cultivate creativity and acknowledge multiple types of intelligence. He is also very funny. This site includes many videos about Education, Technology, Science, Arts, Culture, Renewable energy and Global issues.  This site is more for Middle to High school age students. http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_changing_education_paradigms.html

The last site is called http://www.kidslearningstation.com/. The site is dedicated to providing high quality printable worksheets for teachers, parents and other care givers. They have hundreds of free printable preschool worksheets and kindergarten worksheets that are perfect to add to any preschool or kindergarten lesson plan. If your child is having a hard time grasping Math, Science or Reading this site is a big help.
